CS Square set to expand with new supermarket and specialty stores
16 January 2018
Lendlease’s Development Application for a $45 million expansion of CS Square has been approved by the City of Melton.
The proposed 6,500sqm development will see the addition of a Woolworths supermarket, large format discount store, car wash, more than ten specialty stores and expanded amenities with new parents’ room.
Enhanced pedestrian access near Aldi and additional car parking spaces on the vacant land north of CS Square are also planned bringing total customer parking to over 1100 car spaces.
CS Square Centre Manager, Rod Kennedy, said the expansion would enhance the Centre’s existing grocery offer along with a range of specialty stores and services to the local community.
“CS Square is one of the leading shopping destinations for Melton East and this development will further enhance the retail offer and experience for our valued customers,” Mr Kennedy said.
“This is an exciting time for CS Square and the community. We hope to see an expanded CS Square by early 2019,” he said.
Mayor of the City of Melton, Cr Bob Turner said he welcomed the development and renewed investment in the region.
“Caroline Springs is a strong and growing area and this expansion of CS Square reflects the growing population and needs of the community. Melton City Council is excited that Lendlease is taking steps towards its next development,” Cr Turner said.
Construction is expected to start this month with completion in early 2019.
Located in Caroline Springs, CS Square has served as Melton East's premium shopping centre since 2004. The Centre features approximately 60 quality stores including major retailers Target, Coles, Aldi, First Choice Liquor and The Reject Shop.
