Ideas to keep the kids entertained these school holidays.
Usually our school holiday activities include a line-up of free events in-centre to keep the kids entertained, however, this time it’s a little different due to social distancing. So, we’re thinking outside the box, and we’ve created a go-to guide with plenty of fun ideas to keep the kids happy and entertained these school holidays.
First up, check the weather and with a mix of indoor and outdoor activities on those warmer, sunny days. For the rainy days, check out our mindful activity ideas and spark their inner joy!
Take-home craft packs
From Monday, 29 June - Sunday, 12 July, parents and kids can visit any of our Food Court retailers and pick up a FREE take-home craft pack. Simply visit Ferguson Plarre, KFC, Muffin Break, New Oriental Cafe or Sandwich Chefs and talk to the friendly team to pick up an activity sheet.
The team from Plaster Fun-house will be at CS Square during the second week of the school holidays outside Donut King (Monday, 6 July - 10, Friday July). They will be selling various craft packs that your little ones will be able to create and paint.

Virtual story time
Melton City Library has re-opened but in order to protect you and your family, they are operating at a reduced capacity to ensure safe practise of social distancing. One of the fantastic initiatives they have introduced is virtual story time. Grab your comfiest pillows and enjoy magical stories performed by the Melton City Library team from the comfort of your own home. All story time sessions are recorded and you can view them all by clicking here. For added convenience, the library team has created three different story time sessions for various age groups including babies, toddlers and young children.
Family bike ride
Looking for a fun and active way to entertain the kids but also get them out of the house? The Brimbank City Council have put together a map of all the local family friendly bike paths you can take. Click here to find out more.
30 days of creative play
Kids of different ages play and interact with activities in different ways based on their age. What might be interesting for your older child may not be as entertaining for your younger one but not to worry! Melton City Council have put together a 30 days of creative play calendar for various age groups to inspire you with activities. There's a calendar for babies, for toddlers and primary school aged children. You can view all the calendars here.
