Meet Aydin from Serenity Blue Fish & Chips

Say ‘hello’ to Aydin Tahir from Serenity Blu Fish & Chips; the passionate cook, loving mother and incredible business owner of your local go-to fish and chips restaurant.

Originally starting out in construction management, Aydin never thought she would want to own her own business but after transitioning into the hospitality scene, something sparked. “After working across these industries for 30 years, I realised I wanted to channel my passion for food and my love for feeding people; and make something of my own”. So in 2016, Aydin joined the CS Square family and opened her own fish and chips restaurant, Serenity Blu.

What started out as a small two-person business has now exploded and put Serenity Blu Fish & Chips on the local map as one of the best fish and chip restaurants in the Caroline Springs area. “The ingredients we use are always fresh and I wanted to make good food easily accessible and affordable to local families”, says Aydin. “You can easily feed a family of four for less than $40 here. A quality fish, chips and salad is just $12 or a kebab and chips is just $10, which is also great value. It’s all about us wanting to look after our customers and show the community that great food doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg”.

Being the owner of a small business, Aydin is usually at the restaurant seven days per week but if you love what you do, you never work a day in your life. From cooking to cleaning to customer service, Aydin does it all and it’s the customer relationships that she loves most. “Over the years, we have gotten to know so many members of the local area and it’s the little things that I love most. Customers are always giving out hugs or bringing up their plates after a meal; the love is overwhelming”.

It’s not just quality fish and chips that you’ll find at Serenity Blu. “The area has changed a lot and I started this business with the idea of embracing cultural diversity, using my Turkish background to influence the food”, says Aydin. You’ll find a range of Mediterranean salads and all her meat is halal including her kebabs, dim sims and of course, her famous HSPs; which you can now order in a monstrous $25 jumbo pack, that can easily feed a whole family! And if you’re in the mood for a Turkish coffee, Aydin can also do a coffee cup fortune reading – a woman of many talents!
